The Most Comfortable, Versatile, Casual Sandals (For Under $20!)

Happy Weekend, Y'all!

What a week it has been in the Lavenderwalls household. We had a lot of celebrations going on with the successful conclusion of my husband's training at work AND his birthday, and therefore, a lot of dressing up and getting pretty (which I definitely don't mind). However, what I also don't mind is throwing on a t-shirt and some shorts and pairing those with some nice comfy sandals. I am so excited to share with you the pair that I found that is UNDER $20 and so comfortable.

A few years back, I struggled to find the perfect summer shoes and happened to come across and purchased a pair of braided sandals by Steve Madden. Although I paid somewhere between $40-$50, they were my favorite. Well, I wore the crap out of them while I was pregnant, and eventually the poor sandals needed to be retired. So, you will not believe my excitement during my search earlier this year for new summer shoes when I found these really cute braided sandals from the Universal Thread line at Target. And the best part was that they are only $15.99. These are called the Jana Braided Thong Ankle Strap sandals and they come in a black, cognac (tan), blush pink, and gold, which is what I purchased.

Let me just say that, in comparison to lots of sandals I have tried and seen at places like the department stores and DSW, this Target find just cannot be beat. Besides the amazing price point, these sandals are one of the most comfortable flat sandals I have ever purchased. The insoles are really cushy so they are easy to walk in without your feet getting fatigued and sore. Also, the outer soles are not hard like a board. They are rubbery and non-slip on the bottom and flexible enough to move with your feet as you walk.

As I mentioned, this style of sandals comes in a few different colors, but the reason why I chose the gold ones is the versatility this particular option allows for the outfits you wear with them. In actuality the braided straps not only include a beautiful light gold, there's also silver and rose gold intertwined. All three tones combined allow you to basically match any color outfit with this shoe and still look coordinated.  The metallic is also a pretty touch if you want to throw this on with a cute summer dress and still keep it dressy but casual.

The fit is fantastic and I absolutely love that the size range includes wide, which I feel like is rare for Target shoes or even sandals in general. When reading the reviews, many suggested to either go up half a size or buy your size in the wide. I did both and found that getting my size in a wide worked the best. Honestly, I wouldn't say that this sandal runs narrow, and if it didn't come in a wide, I wouldn't have had an issue. It certainly was nice though to have a little extra width as it gave a more aesthetically pleasing look where my toes were.

Needless to say, I am very happy with these sandals and so excited to have shared what I will be wearing with many of my outfits this summer. Hopefully, I will also be able to show you the whole outfits soon...as soon as I can find a full length mirror (Ugh! That's a whole other issue in itself!). For now, you are going to just have to endure these awkward pictures of my feet (I cringe!).

Lastly, if you haven't checked out what else Target is offering under their Universal Thread label, go check it out HERE - especially all of you Madewell lovers!

Have a great weekend and HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all the dads in your lives!
