Review: Marc Jacobs Style Eye-Con No. 7 - The Dreamer Eye Shadow Palette

What's going on , Party People!!!!
We did it! We made it through another Monday! I hope yours has been fabulous!

I am soo glad to be bringing you this review of the *NEW* Marc Jacobs Style Eye-Con No. 7 Eye Shadow Palette in The Dreamer!!!...and this one is extra special because I'm bringing this to you from my home away from home, the San Antonio hotel room I will be staying in for the next 3 nights. Yes, I am on a business trip, but I could not wait to share with you what I thought about this palette!

This is my first palette by the Marc Jacobs make-up line and I have to say that I am very impressed by the packaging and presentation. The palette itself comes in a really nice pouch. Does it REALLY serve a purpose? No, but it adds a nice feeling to know that upon removing the pouch from the outer box, there is something more to unwrap...Fannnccccyyyy!!!!

When pulled out of the pouch, the palette is sleek - thin, long, and almost weightless. The wording is chicly presented, and the silver button that pops opens the palette adds a classy touch.

Here is what the back of the palette looks like. Nothing special, but it's nice that there is a little overview of the shadow colors to expect.

As I have also seen on all the other Style Eye-Con palette, the shadows come covered with a thin piece of plastic. You might be thinking that this is ridiculous, but when I think about it, this piece is pretty nice if you want to use the mirror. What I have found with palettes is that over time, as you use them, the dust particles from the product start to get everywhere and sometimes clouds the mirror. With the plastic over the shadow, the chances of that happening is dramatically reduced.

Here is the view of when the plastic is removed. One caveat, it can be a pain to try to pick up, but when you do, it's like "Victory!!!!"

This is it! The palette! The colors are all very neutral with a deep brown and a couple peachy pink colors that go great with the basic shades.

Swatches! The consistency is so creamy and pigmented, and so easy to blend. These are definitely quality shadows! With this palette you can come up with different unique smoky nude looks, as well as, soft neutral combinations perfect for work simply using these 7 shades alone. Or, you can accompany other shadows within your collections to help blend out and diffuse the look. I absolutely melted when I saw the peachy shade (third from the right)!!! It makes the PERFECT transition shade that helps blur the harsh lines of your crease and lid colors. In fact, I melted when I saw ALL of the colors of the palette! Just SO pretty, SO perfect for the fall!!!

Soooo....Let's talk about the only con I have with this palette. It's $58!!!! Although I feel like the colors and quality are really top notch, it's still hard to swallow paying that much.  In some way, I feel like when purchasing the Marc Jacobs line, a piece of your money is spent on the name. Truely, if I was to pull a couple palettes together, I could probably find some solid dupes that can easily get the job done.  Don't get me wrong...this line is great, but if I can get one of the Naked palettes by Urban Decay or the Lorac Pro palettes for less, my logical self would tell me to spring for those before I would pick up this Dreamer palette...Then again, sometimes the joys of make-up is about NOT being logical and buying what inspires you, so in that case I say,...

LOVE it, go buy it, have fun!

I hope you like this quick review of the new Marc Jacobs The Dreamer Eye Shadow palette.

Have a great night and a beutiful Tuesday!
